Blog-post 9

Since next assignment we will involve with “infographics” ,I would like to learn and know more about infographics in advance. The first time I heard the infographic was in Gateway, I thought it was just a design tool,a graph; however, it also related to PR communication. What is the function for using inforaphics? Basically are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly. Infographics can improve cognition by using graphics to enhance the human visual system’s ability to see patterns and trends.

When you are in PR campaign, it is one of  the biggest part of campaign. According to Graphs.net , search volumes for these designs have increased by more than 800% between 2010 and 2012, while – since 2007 – the usage of visual data has grown by almost 1000%(http://prexamples.com/2014/07/why-your-pr-campaign-should-involve-infographics/).A mix of social media and internet access has probably caused infographics to become popular. And there are several reasons that PR campaign need infographics to be one part.

  • It is more than words. We all know that having some visual arts may make people have an easy memory. Infographics have this function which combine words, data and visual chart together.
  • It can share to global. Not only do infographics have the potential to go transmissibility, but their data and information can easily be spread to other countries.
  • Stand out. You need a message which will stand out from the others. If the campaign or information are always sameness, people will be tired to see your data, instead, infographics can make your work more distinctive than others.

I’m expecting to learn more details about how to make an effective and stand out infogrphics from this class.
